Can you be more specific about what you mean by

(1) being compelled to use the Apple apps, and
(2) the tight integration?

(I'm frustrated by the continued refusal of my new new iCal entries  
to be added to my Treo after I sync -- using Missing Sync, not the  
iSync conduit. First I was frustrated with the iSync conduit, so I  
switched to MS. But this is making me throw my hands in the air. I'm  
online every night looking for answers, downloading updates and  
fixes, installing new software, soft and hard resetting my Treo. This  
is precisely the opposite of what I bought it for in the first place.)
