Regarding the "Unfiled" category. I have had issues with this as well as
the "None" category. Palm uses the "Unfiled" category for anything you
create but don't designate a specific category. The "None" category comes
from Entourage for the same reason. What I have done is go back to all my
devices and software that support categories or groups and create one called
"Unfiled" and one called "None". I hate to do it because it burns up the
limited number of categories on the Palm and it just is a pain to see
useless info. Remember that Palm supports different categories for each of
its databases; so make sure you add these for Contacts, To Do's, etc.
Even beyond this, I always try to make sure I have added ALL the same
categories and groups to my devices and software before a first sync. For
me that means my Palm T2, Entourage 2004, iCal, and Address Book. Once
everything has synced fine after a few days, I might try to delete a certain
unused category or group and see what happens.
Those conduits are tricky little buggers, and you never know exactly how or
why or when it makes a decision to do something.
