[missing-sync-palmos-talk] E2Sync?

I've been reading all the comments on e2Sync and have been thinking a lot
about posting a comment. I will try to relay my experience as factual as
possible without the emotional hoop-la. Anytime somebody posts something
negative, it seems they are open-season for being slammed. Please be
considerate, and realize these are only the facts as seen by me.
I tried e2Sync while it was still in Beta. I never got it to work except
for it installing an unexpected "e2Sync" category. Note... that e2Sync
appears to have full use of categories in their feature set now. At that
time, I just needed software that worked without having to contact
developers or go through a few days of support. I posted a truthful comment
on VersionTracker.com, and within a few hours the developer completely
slammed me on a reply posting to Version Tracker. He even posted my full
name for the world to see. Wow!
I realize this is probably a passion of his, but as a user, I see any
software as a product that will get the job done or not. There is no
emotional involvement on my part. So I meant no 'foul play' to the designer
in my comments.
However, his response scared me. I've never had a developer single me out
by name and give me a little slam in a public forum. At that point, I
decided it was just best not to use the product even if it eventually ended
up working. I had and continue using Paul Berkowitz' scripts for Entourage
to iCal/Address Book syncing. They are not integrated to iSync, HotSync, or
Missing Sync, but they do an incredible job, and are highly flexible in
their feature set.
I really do believe the developer of e2Sync is trying to make a great
product and doing everything he can to work on issues as they arise. At the
same time, I want to make sure that my friends here in this group are aware
of my experience as well.
Regards,
Michael
