Duplicated contacts, etc. can be fixed easily on the Palm side, then sync
properly with MS, overwriting your desktop. Be aware if you use something
like Entourage or newer desktop software that many fields are added beside
the sync'd field from Palm so this may not be suitable for your situation.
YMMV. 

The utility to do this is probably freeware by now, it's so old, but works
great. Look for Undupe. I used to use it all the time on Palm Desktop sync
issues. I no longer have a need, but would not part with it (just in case).
It helped me out when Now Utilities was first on Palm 3 OS (if this gives
you any idea of the age).
