In my own experience, you needed well over 1MB free. This happened alot
with the 650 came out and people moved from the 600 to the 650, as the new
NVFS memory system on the 650 is not as efficient as the old memory system
on the 600, so moving the exact same data from a 600 to a 650 will result
in less free space on the 650 compared to the 600. Try and move some data
to a card if you can.
