[missing-sync-palmos-talk] New to this...

Unfortunately that information is incorrect. You do not have to  
install Palm Desktop prior to installing Missing Sync; you only need  
to install Palm Desktop if 1) you plan on using Palm Desktop for  
Calendar/Address Book/ToDos/Memos or 2) you want to install the  
conduits such as Media that come with the Treo 650.
