I have never used a Pocket PC with my Mac (only a PC); so forgive me if my
explanation is inadequate.

>From what can tell, "Missing Sync for Palm OS" & "Missing Sync for PocketPC"
are completely different animals. The PocketPC version appears to be just a
plugin (conduit) for iSync, while the Palm version is an entire program
independent of iSync. The only way the Palm OS version can sync with iCal &
Address Book is through the conduit provided by Apple (hence the category
limitation).

I know it is something that Missing Sync has on their brain. If they can
get it to work 100% reliably with little effort, then I'm sure they will
provide this conduit. However, that is not for what Missing Sync was
designed. Missing Sync was designed to handle 3rd party conduits. On very
rare occasion, Missing Sync has released their own conduit to help us users.
I'm guessing that the Apple iSync Conduit for Palm is not such a simple
conduit, especially when you add category mapping. Imagine the amount of
extra support they would now have to provide for a free addition if it did
not work 100%. And we all know that no software works 100%. It's just the
nature of a million lines of code :)

Also, Apple is also very aware of the its conduit limitations. We also know
how tight-lipped is Apple about product/software releases. Imagine if
Missing Sync spent 100's of man-hours on designing, testing, and supporting
this, to have Apple release it 2 weeks later?

Anyway, those are my thoughts to help explain why Missing Sync might not be
doing this. At the same time, I'd sure love to see them do it anyway!
