[missing-sync-palmos-talk] Sync Entourage

Michael,
I'm using a Sony Clie SJ-33, which runs Palm OS 4.x and thus doesn't suffer
with the new-style Palm database problems that can cause problems with the
Entourage 2004 Conduit. Although, since you're using a T2 and everything was
fine under 4.0.2, that doesn't sound like your issue.
What I can confirm is that when I first went over to MS 4.x from MS For Sony
Clie, I saw a lot of crashes and error messages from the Entourage Conduit.
A hard reset of the Clie and some other extreme measures finally
straightened it out, so I may have been looking at database corruption
rather than a specific MS issue.
I currently use Sync-Entourage-iCal, Paul Berkowitz's script, to sync
Entourage to an iCal calendar of my work schedule that my wife can subscribe
to. It works well, but due to limitations in iCal, is rather slow. But it
does work. For my purposes, I have the Address Book part of Entourage
Conduit set to "Do Nothing." Last time I sync'ed it, the fields got messed
up and I just don't have the patience for sorting it out my address
database is huge.
What you're proposing could work, but sounds pretty cumbersome to me.
I've been seriously considering eliminating Entourage from the equation
altogether and just syncing at home (I also sync to Outlook 2003 at the
office) to iCal via iSync. I just don't know how well behaved that will be
with Datebook5's special features! (Anybody using iSync with Datebook5???)
Take care,
Steve
