[missing-sync-palmos-talk] can no longer sync

At the end of a sync (bluetooth) I got a message that the connection  
was broken. Hotsync quit, but M/S had to be force quit. I couldn't  
the sync to work again. I've rebooted to kill any lock files. Now  
when I launch the hotsync app, the hotsycn launches and finishes with  
no error on the Treo, before M/S desktop app even launches. Then I  
have to force quit M/S.

All the console shows is:
