I think adaptors could be easily written for 5 if 3 or 4 supported  
option 1 (if you follow me).  This is basically the approach taken by  
Jeff of ShadowPlan, and then there are XSLT transforms available.

For number 2, SQLlite is baked into Tiger, isn't it?  I don't know  
how good the VARCHAR support is in SQLlite, but it might make the  
path a bit simpler.  Once there, 3 or 4 become more straightforward  
to accomplish by the community, provided the schema is sane and  
documented.
