Trying to network sync from Powerbook (10.0.1.3) to XP (10.0.1.200)
machine.

WinXP machine has Network HotSync enabled.

PBook has M/S Internet Sharing enabled.

Palm (treo600) hot sync is set to "Modem" (not Local) sync with
"MissingSync" as the connection

Modem Sync Preferences are set to 'Network' (not "Direct to modem")

LANSync is set to LANSync (not Local HotSync)

Primary PC is 10.0.1.200 (PC Name) and the same for Primary Address.

Conduit = ACT only (no other Palm apps)

Connection setup = MissingSync

When I try to sync, the "Connecting with the desktop using
MissingSync" comes up, and I see the HotSync window on the PC for
like a fraction of a second... that happens three times about 20
seconds apart.

Immediately after the 3rd time I get the warning on the Palm: "The
connection between your handheld computer and the desktop count not
be established. Please check your setup and try again."

Any ideas what might be going wrong?

I can connect from the PBook to the XP without any problem (using RDC
or Windows Sharing) so I know the network is good.

I can ssh from the Palm to the PBook. I can get online from the Palm
through the PBook.

I can ping the PBook from the Palm.

I can ping Google from the Palm.

I cannot, however, ping the XP box from the Palm.

This makes me think there's some sort of routing issue going on.

Another strange thing.... I've even gone into the Palm Network >
Prefs > MissingSync > Details > Advanced
and set a 10.0.1.250 IP, but when I ssh to the PBook, I see it was
given a 192.168.x.x one.

Any clues appreciated :-/
