A few things; if it switches to "Do Nothing", it means the Missing
Sync Monitor application is not running. There are a two potential
causes of this:
1) The Monitor application crashed; if this happens, please make sure
you fill out the crash report in the dialog that comes up so that we
can investigate. If it happens repeatedly, please contact support.
2) The Monitor application is not running. This can happen if you
haven't selected "Enable Synchronization/Sharing at startup", you
have moved Missing Sync for Palm OS, or something/someone removed the
login item. To fix this, go into preferences and unselect "Enable
Synchronization/Sharing at startup" and then re-select it. This
allows Missing Sync to reset the login item.
As for running Cocktail, OnyX or manually running the cron tasks, the
likelihood of those helping Missing Sync are minimal. I have yet to
see a case where running these scripts or repairing permissions has
helped Missing Sync or any other application. Of course, your mileage
may vary, but I rarely run those on my own systems and they're rock
solid. I'm sure others will tell you how these fix lots of problems
and that may be the case for them, but don't count on it to fix
problems with Missing Sync.
