[missing-sync-palmos-talk] problems since 10.3.9

hi Timothy --

I've read the replies you've gotten so far...

I don't think the problem is with 10.3.9.... Hope you don't mind me
asking, but are you using internet sharing to update weather and quote
on Iambic Agendus for Palm? Because if you are -- this problem of PPP
timeout error 0x1231 is not just happening to you. Agendus is notorious
for timing out on updates -- I think their server is very small and has
to serve all of their customers both Windows people and Mac people.
I've been going around and around with them on this. Drives me nuts.
Takes about fifty tries over several days to finally get the
weather/quote update to happen. But Mark/Space's internet sharing works
just fine for EVERYTHING ELSE. Strange, eh? The windows folks on the
Iambic forums are complaining about exactly the same thing: timeout,
error codes, can't update -- and they're not using Missing Sync
(usually).

The customer service people at Agendus seem to know nothing whatsoever
about Mac (the usual problem <g>) and have answered me with useless
boiler-plate replies that insult one's intelligence and/or competence.

They even said it wasn't possible to update weather & quote (except by
doing it the clunky memo way) although I've been doing it (using
Missing Sync as Agendus's own web pages suggest, by the way) for months
and months.

Again -- if it isn't for Iambic Agendus that you're having this problem
-- well, then I don't have any answers.

I only mention this in case you are having this problem when trying to
deal with Iambic Agendus's server.

So far there have been no problems for me otherwise with Mark/Space and
I too am running OS X 10.3.9 on a G4 PowerBook 1.5 with 1Gb RAM.

yours,
Deborah Griffin Bly
