[missing-sync-palmos-talk] Newbie question! (MS and Sony UX50)

Hi!  I just got my first MAC and 2nd PDA, the UX50.  I
don't really understand what the problem is between
the software and the PDA,  what exactly is: "the
desktop mounting feature (via Data Import or MSImport
on the CLIÉ)" and why doesn't it work?  Will I be able
to Sync Entourage, the calendar and address book? 
Also, can I use an instant messaging service, like AIM
on my PDA?   Thanks in advance!
