[missing-sync-palmos-talk] is Palm Desktop necessary if using iSync/iCal/Addressbook?

I have a Treo 600 and never open the palm desktop. I believe I read in 
an earlier submission that it may not be necessary to install the Palm 
Desktop if using 'missing-sync-palmos' with iSync/iCal/Addressbook

and if it applies to the Treo 600, what palm files can I delete from my 
Mac? I would love to get rid of non-essential software.
