25 and a half hours later, FUS is going fine. Previously, with MS 
enabled for both users, the computer tended to freeze at the swirling 
bar on the log-in screen on attempting to log in. I'm actually quite 
surprised that no-one else has followed up with a 'me too' about this.

I may yet find that Sod's law is invoked as soon as I send this email 
but will keep this list updated if it does.
