I have exactly the same experience, although at the very very first sync
after installing b5, a dialogue box came up requesting Keychain access. But
after that, it's as per your description.
I've already reported this on this board and submitted a bug report. Since,
I have received a response stating that they could not reproduce the problem
and will need more data. It may be worthwhile doing the following on your
installation also (per Scott's instruction):
