I don't know if that was part of the problem, but I did get it fixed. It
seems that when I installed Office 2004 using the istaller on the CD, it
imported my database from Office X, and that database continued the "think"
it was still Office X. So I dragged all my messages and mailboxes onto the
desktop, quit Entourage and removed the datebase from the Min Identity
folder. Then I restarted from scratch, and set up Entourage as if for the
first time, and dragged all my mailboxes back. That took care of the "open
identity" problem, but I still couldn't sync because it said the handheld
database couldn't be opened.

So I opened the settings for the date book and set it to sync only one
category, (family), one that had no repeating events. It synced perfectly,
only synced all my events as if they were all "family." I changed them in
the calendar to the correct categories, made sure that my Palm and entourage
had the same exact categories (and names) and changed the setting to sync
all categories. The next time I synced it seemed to work just fine, and left
the categories as they were.

The only thing that didn't sync was the Memos, it said it couldn't open the
handheld database. I'll have to work on that some more, but at least
everything else is working.

Thanks,

jackie
