Thanks, but I've tried that. Several times. Didn't make any
difference. In my case, my CLIE just was sitting in
Bluetooth Serial Port
Connecting...
for a long time, then finally appeared to get past that
(but probably don't in reality), and then aborted claiming
that some other application is using the port.
While the CLIE sat in Connecting..., the BT icon on the
Mac showed that there indeed was a BT connection.
I had checked that the Bluetooth-PDA-Sync port did exist,
and even removed all other BT serial ports, just to be sure.
No help.
If I changed the Bluetooth-PDA-Sync port to be modem instead
of RS-232, interestingly the long Connecting... delay
disappeared, and the CLIE almost immediately claimed that
some other app is using the port.
As a final try, prompted by writing the text above, I
removed the Bluetooth-PDA-Port completely, using the
BT Serial Utility. For some reason, that fixed the
problem. Now I can sync over BT.
BTW, it works both with the noncompliant and compliant
setting. I guess CLIE UX50 is new enough.
