Do you have firewall running on your Mac (System Prefences
->Sharing, Firewall tab)? If so, see my previous posting
about problems with WLAN and BT to see how to properly set
up the firewall to bypass syncing traffic.
If you know how to go to command line, it would also help
if you could do
% sudo traceroute -ni en1
(supposing that en1 is your WLAN, as usual). That would
dump on the terminal the traffic on your LAN. From the
output one can see if the TCP connection used for WLAN
syncing is created properly.
Also, on command line, enter
% netstat -an | grep 14238
If you get a line like (but with much more spaces)
tcp4 0 0 *.14238 *.* LISTEN
then Missing Sync is listening for network traffic properly.
While trying to get WLAN working myself, I also noticed that
at least my Sony Clie has some problems with IP addresses
entered manually, and got better results by making sure that
my Mac has a domain name in the DNS, and using the DNS instead
of a numeric IP address. (The Clie sometimes sent the address
in wrong byte order.)
