After I finally got the bloody thing to even RUN, I tried to sync with
Group Organizer. (Oddly, while I was repeatedly running into the "won't
launch a second time" bug yesterday, and was anxious to try the
workaround today when I got home from work, I tried running it first
and found that for some reason it's no longer having that problem,
without me doing anything.)
Anyway, OrganizerConduit repeatedly HANGS -- both the Palm and Missing
Sync. I have to reset the former and force-quit the latter to break
them loose. (The cancel buttons in the dialog don't work.) The Palm's
sync dialog indicates it doesn't realize that the Organizer sync has
even started... in my normal conduit set it still thinks it's doing
"Voice Memo", and with only OrganizerConduit enabled the Palm thinks
it's still initializing the sync. I sent in a tech support email a few
hours ago, but probably won't get a reply until at least Monday.
Now I feel pretty bad. I thought about Missing Sync for quite a while,
but it never quite seemed worth paying money for a "better version" of
what was free. But I've been having repeated weird problems with Palm
sync; and with the grand release of MS 4.0 I decided to give it a try.
I did check the conduit compatibility list; and while Group Organizer
wasn't on it, Personal Organizer was... and GO wasn't on the "not
supported list", so it seemed like a reasonable gamble. I guess that's
one bet I lost, to the tune of $40.
I hope they do something about this one quickly.
