[missing-sync-palmos-talk] mac does not recognize disk

I have a 256 Mb SD disk in the Treo 600

I installed MS for Palm OS

The disk appeared the first time on the Mac Finder.

Now it does not show up on the desktop and the mac claims it is 
unreadable and if you select intitalize you only see your own hard disk 
to re-initialize WHICH ONE SHOULD NOT DO.

Disk appears OK in Treo.

So between this and my Avantgo experience, these two issues both worked 
find first time but not since.

any advice?
