[missing-sync-palmos-talk] Excruciatingly long sync times over network/LANSync

Is there some setting I can twiddle in Missing Sync to allow
it to sycronize faster over 802.11x? It connects almost immediately,
but then spends the first 3-4 minutes at the "Gathering Information"
dialog on the OSX side, before it starts to syncronize any of the
actual conduit data across, even if I disable every conduit except
"Calendar".

Exactly what information is it gathering, and why does it
take so excruciatingly long to get it to sync? Since a fully charged
T3 + palmOne Wi-Fi card gives me 10 minutes of battery life, max,
before draining the unit completely, cutting overall sync time down,
is absolutely crucial. If I am doing a full backup, I'm out of juice
before the backup completes.

I've checked all of the obvious settings, and I can pull data
across at just over 2MiB/sec. using just pilot-link itself, but when
using the Missing Sync interface and conduit, it takes roughly 8
minutes to sync _just_ my Calendar. Two syncs in a row, and I'm out
oft battery completely, from a full charge (yes, I realize the
battery issue is solely due to the horrible design of the Wi-Fi card,
but the problem still exists).

I'll try using the wired cradle with LANSync next and see if
it is any faster, but any tips or pointers you could provide would be
useful.

	Thanks.
