I'd take a look in console.log (launch Console) and see if anything 
indicates a Missing Sync crash or something like that. You said you're 
running Jaguar 10.3.6; are you running Jaguar (10.2) or Panther (10.3)? 
I suspect Panther. Feel free to post the last part of your log hear 
(last 25 lines or so).
