[missing-sync-palmos-talk] MS Stopped Working - help!

I've used MS since it's initial release with no problems until
installing 4.02, now I cannot sync at all. MCC won't even launch; the icon
bounces then stops without taking any action. The system does not display
any error message. I've changed no settings before or since upgrading to
4.02. I'm running Jaguar 10.3.6.
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MS, but it still won't launch.
When I press the hotsynch button, my T3 responds and it's display
indicates synch is in process but nothing ever happens and I'm forced to
reset in order to quit hotsynch. The desktop never responds; there is no
progress bar or message displayed.
I also tried uninstalling MS, logging in as root user and reinstalling MS
4.02. Didn't make a difference. Tried repairing permissions.
The closest I've come to a solution is by repeatedly launching MS until it
eventually works, at least for one hotsynch session. After that, I'm back
to square one.
Any suggestions?
