I just submitted this to Mark/Space support, but I also want to cross submit
it to this list since I know some others are having similar problems with
MemoPad duplicating categories and moving around memos after syncing.
Also I’d appreciate it if someone from Mark/Space would let me know if I did
not submit this at the proper place for it to get noticed!
Thanks,
Rob

brand: Sony Clie
model: PEG-NX80V
os: Palm 0S v.5.0
missingsync: 4.0.2
macos: 10.3.6
syncs_entourage: yes
problem: Using Mark/Space MemoPad, some memo categories are duplicated after
a sync, and memos are distributed between the duplicate categories, and
sometimes distributed to the "Unfiled" category or an unrelated category.
Some memos are deleted. Some may be duplicated but I haven't noticed that.
the arrangement of memos on the handheld is different from that on the Mac.
steps: My version of Entourage is for Japanese Office 2004, and my Mac OS
and Missing Sync are set to Japanese. The Clie is also Japanese. Most
everything is Japanese except for some stray English bits here and there. I
have Missing Sync set to allow conduit conflicts so I can use MemoPad with
Entourage, and I have Entourage's memo syncing function turned off. I've
run into this problem a couple times already - once when I first started
using MemoPad (please note that at that time I wasn't allowing conduit
conflicts since i was using iSync). Then it happened again about a week
ago. Fortunately I had just backed up the Clie via Hot Sync to our Windows
PC (I'm in the habit of doing that since Mac Hot Sync has always been flaky
- I set the conduits to just back up from the Clie to the PC, except
Docs-to-Go, which I use to pick up some documents off the PC). So I Hot
Synced with the PC again to restored my memos from the PC to the Clie. Then
for a couple days I used Memory Stick backup before I tried syncing the Clie
to the Mac again. Finally, I tried syncing the Clie to the Mac again. I had
the MemoPad conduit set to synchronize. It resulted in the category
duplication and memo disorganization problem again. Of course, as you might
expect, the exact pattern of duplication and disorganization is different
from one time to the next. Incidentally, the overall sync operation took a
loooong time this time. As I was expecting trouble, I turned on all logging
options in preferences and using command-option-shift-D. I can mail you the
log if you like.
