>This is true for some of the OS 5 devices. The newer palmOne devices, such as the T5, T3, Treo 650, etc. have "Calendar" instead of Datebook. Calendar (which has a separate conduit called Calendar) supports categories. The only conduit/application that has a chance of syncing this information is Palm Desktop. I don't believe that any other conduit supports syncing of Calendar in its entirety. Other conduits can talk to Calendar through a "shim" that palmOne put in, but it will only sync the standard stuff, not the category and location information.

I have been using categories for Datebook "appointment" events in Palm Desktop on the Mac and in DateBk5 (and 4 and 3 before that) for years. AFAIK, the standard Palm Datebook conduit has always supported the 15+1 categories on the Mac. This worked as far back as my old Palm III and my Vx. Palm's Datebook just didn't use that information.

My new T5 uses the new Calendar conduit, as you said. The newest update of DateBk5 now utilizes the Calendar database on the T5 directly, as of a little over a week ago.

This is all independent of The Missing Sync ...
