It looks like the setup wizard is looking at data files directly (it picked
up some old Palm Desktop users I had on my machine ages ago, rather than my
current list from Missing Sync), rather than making "user manager" calls to
enumerate the handhelds.

I'm not familiar with how Plucker works, and the fact that it asks if the
device is USB (and then says this option is not used on Mac... Why is it
there then?), as well as where to install the files, makes me wonder if
Plucker talks direct to the device instead of via a conduit or other
mechanism.

If you just want to get the viewer on the device (the point at which we are
currently stuck), you can control-click on the Plucker app icon, pick "show
package contents" and then in /Contents/Resources/viewer/palmos/" you will
find the various bits and pieces of the viewer (presuming they are OK to
manually install, and don't need to be massaged by the setup wizard).

Hopefully some people with more Plucker experience than I (which is just
downloading it and running it a few minutes ago!) will chime in...

If you are a software engineer, the source for Plucker is available at the
plucker web site, and is certainly the definitive answer...

Brian
