OK, I'll ask again - If the new PD 4.2.1 was made with Palm OS 5.2.8 in
mind, and my T3 runs Palm OS 5.2.1, will there be any performance
difference?

Right... but it also doesn¹t take in account to any and old changes that
Apple might make on it's side. Who knows, maybe Apple is preparing it's own
PDA? We'll never know what's going on behind the closed corp. doors:)

We can only hope so...

but... what about

Palm Desktop? If it's not developed, or a replacement is offered for it,
then it's Now Up To Date, or Entourage, or Apple's Address Book and iCal
which don't have much of a Memo's Component, i.e. that's not a real PIM.
Entourage is WAY too FAT, and, with it's Database often needing a Rebuild,
or a Complex Rebuild, I am don't want to risk putting ALL my PIM Data into
ONE Entourage Basket, where you can't really get under the hood...:) NUTD
doesn't even Memos(Notes), and they are not even promising it by SF Macworld
next January!

What about T3's and Cobalt? T3 has a Flashable ROM, but I guess PalmOne
won't make a T3 Update, in order to encourage us to buy the newer Cobalt
PDA's, while we give our T3's to Window's friends, since their Palm Desktop
will go on, unlike our Mac PD...

My plan -- use PD 4.1 or 4.2.1 till it no longer works with my T3 and
Panther 10.3.3 and higher. After that, we'll see.

Hopefully PalmOne, PalmSource etc. will survive in the market place and we
still have our PDA's or SmartPhone's to work with our Mac's.

For as long as iPod, Apple, are STRONG, we'll get respect from Palm and
other vendors etc. The same goes for online banking etc. where only Explorer
is supported.

Palm FAILED to reach to the masses, because they were too busy chasing the
corporate sales, where they could sell in bulk. Palm's lack of clarity about
it's products doesn't help either. They probably assumed that they'd be
selling only to geeks, who in turn would educate the rest of us in lieu of
Palm For Dummies...

Palm could have been MUCH better at EDUCATING people. No wonder their sales
are NOWHERE NEAR where they could have been. People on the street are simply
intimidated... Not everyone is savvy enough...

Palm could have learned from Apple, and it's .Mac Online Tutorials...
