[missing-sync-palmos-talk] Trouble establishing a shared internet connection for Avantgo

For about 4-5 months now I have been trying to establish a shared internet
connection in order to use Avantgo, with NO SUCCESS.

I have no trouble mounting my Palm's expansion card, so that's fine.

My Mac has internet connections via ethernet and Airport. I use the Ethernet
connection. In my Sharing Preference  in System Preferences, both are
checked off and Ethernet has priority. I turn Internet sharing on by
clicking the start button.

I start Missing Sync Net Sharing 1.0 and choose Internet Sharing.

I choose Network Pref on Palm (Zire 71 OS 5). I have chosen both Windows RAS
and Missing sync as the service. User name is left blank or I enter my
Palm's username, to try that. Connection is CableCradle. Details are PPP,
Idle timeout: Never, Query DNS checked, IP Address automatic checked.

I click connect and the screen says signing on for 2-3 minutes and then the
secondary screen cancels.

Anybody spot something wrong?
