From tilman at virtualtourist.com Tue May 3 02:45:54 2005 From: tilman at virtualtourist.com (Tilman Reissfelder) Date: Mon May 2 16:46:04 2005 Subject: [missing-sync-hiptop-talk] unknown erro Message-ID: Hi guys, not to rain on anyone's parade (I am very happy to at least synchronize something right now), but I was not aware that paying money would make me a beta-tester. I filed a bug report, but got no help whatsoever. Now when synchronizing I don't even get an error message at all any more, symptoms are still the same as from the beginning: Everything syncs fine, but the contacts. They don't synchronize either direction (created new ones on the device as well). No error message or warning. My previous warning went away on its own (I got rid of all custom fields, but that did not show any immediate improvements back then). Has anyone seen anything similar? Please someone from support give me a hand here. I am on a trip in Europe and can't haul my PowerBook with me everywhere. - Tilman PS: I had some code to upload contacts to the device, but I'd rather use the real deal and not mess with home-made stuff any more. My device is cleaned up from previous "pirate" uploads and I don't really want to go back to that after paying for a "solution". Message-ID: <7e91c6b05051721544873966b@mail.gmail.com> I've been enjoying using the beta 5 of 1.0.1 since it came out, but the one thing that's buggin' me right now is the non-auto-syncing that I understand now, is a limitation of iSync, not the Missing Sync 'ware. So what kind of AppleScript or otherwise, are people doing to work iSync's auto-syncing into the happy mix of it all? (one extra bit to note, I manually changed my iSync plist file, so that it would sync every 181 minutes, instead of every hour, as iSync 1.5 allows in the GUI pref setting - the 181, so that it won't go more often than the 8-times-per-24-hours that I understand that Danger's servers are allowing us to sync) any ideas/ways? thanks, John-E From cweiss at stickyc.com Thu May 26 15:37:06 2005 From: cweiss at stickyc.com (Chris Weiss) Date: Thu May 26 14:37:07 2005 Subject: [missing-sync-hiptop-talk] Anyone there? I've run into a frustrating problem with my setup - I sync the SK2 and added a Palm as well (after a long hiatus), which I started syncing with my PC laptop (it's my shortcut to getting the PIM data on my PC). However, I've noticed now that when I get the PIM data on the PC, Palm Desktop (for the PC) crashes on launch. If nuke the user folder, PDT(pc) launches fine and I can delete the user from there. When I resync the data, it'll mess up PDT again. I think you have a large contingent of people waiting on your product before they can start to use really use Tiger. Most of us waited since day one for your Sidekick product, and to have it finally arrive just weeks before Tiger knocked it down has been, well, a real kick in the teeth. We are out here salivating at night wishing you guys were done and ready with Beta yesterday, so if we need to send ya some NoD?z and caffeinated waters, just say the word. Please remember we are thinking good thoughts for you - it's our data, our lives at stake - we want solid stable software.
