Mark/Space is as anxious to ship the Missing Sync for hiptop as you are to
get it! We finished the software in January of 2004 and have been waiting
for carrier and Danger approval. There are two parts to this approval:
1) Carrier support for the PIM Sync server API's - some carriers are now
supporting PIM Sync. This is a huge milestone that allows us to now test the
Missing Sync on carrier production servers.
2) Launch date approval - The carrier has to approve the proposed launch
date. We are told that the carriers need to prepare their customer care
personnel about the Missing Sync and how to direct Mac users asking about
PIM sync. Mark/Space has offered documentation, answers to "Frequently Asked
Questions" and Mark/Space contact information in an effort to help carriers
prepare so they will feel comfortable giving their approval.
Now that carriers are supporting the PIM Sync server API's, we are
re-testing the Missing Sync for hiptop with Mac OS X 10.3.5, iCal 1.5.1, and
iSync 1.5 (all new versions since we finished the software back in January).
Danger owns the relationship with each of their carriers and is being
helpful to convince the carriers that they should allow The Missing Sync
access to their production servers.
The Missing Sync software is planned to be sold through the Mark/Space
online store only - NOT through the carrier's billing system. Mark/Space
will be your contact point for all sales and support of The Missing Sync for
hiptop. If you pose a Mac-related question to the carrier, they should
direct you to Mark/Space.
Stay tuned!
