When I first got the 7100 I set it up to pop into my university account. The
university prefers that we use IMAP, claims they only support IMAP, but in
fact I also use my email client (Entourage) in POP mode.

I decided I didn't like this system, though, because you can't control how
often the 7100 pops. It seemed like it was doing it every 15 minutes or so.

So I now have it configured this way: I have all my university mail
forwarded to my BlackBerry address (except, as I mentioned previously, I now
have some simple filters that exclude certain spam messages from getting
forwarded to the 7100).

I like this way better because the messages get pushed to the 7100. This
happens very fast, typically long before I ever receive it on my Mac (and in
fact the 7100 acts to notify me when a new message arrives).

It doesn't do IMAP if by that you mean allowing you to see the email folder
structure on your IMAP server, move messages into/out of these folders, etc.

So: yes, messages sent from the 7100 don't show up in my IMAP account, and
yes, I do have to literally have my IMAP account forward mail to the
tmo.blackberry.net account. Messages are received twice: once on the 7100,
and also on my PowerBook.

As I say, this way works fine for me. But if T-Mobile calls this IMAP
support, it isn't.
