NEWS: Announcing The Missing Sync for Palm OS, v5.0 Last month, Mark/Space shipped a major update to The Missing Sync for Palm OS, bringing it to version 5.0. Listed below is a sampling of some of the new features in v5. BETTER SYNCING WITH ADDRESS BOOK AND ICAL IN MAC OS X 10.4 TIGER No longer will you be frustrated by Apple's iSync Conduit. If you're running Tiger, The Missing Sync for Palm OS v5.0 replaces the iSync Palm Conduit with Mark/Space Contacts, Events and Tasks conduits. Calendar categories, multiple postal addresses, birthday, IM address and other fields are now synchronized with later model Palm OS devices (such as the Treo 650 and Tungsten E). CONTACT PHOTO SYNCHRONIZATION For the first time, the picture field for each contact entry in Tiger's Address Book is synchronized with the matching entry on supported hendhelds. For example, if you take a picture with your Treo and assign it to a contact, that photo will appear in Address Book after your next sync. Likewise, photos assigned to contacts in Address Book will be synchronized to devices that support contact record photos. NEW FOLDER SYNC CONDUIT We've created a conduit that allows you to keep one or more folders on your Mac in sync with your Palm OS device. Sync files in one or both directions. IPHOTO ALBUM AND ITUNES PLAYLIST SYNCING Version 5.0 adds two new conduits for syncing with iPhoto and iTunes. Pick one or more iPhoto albums and/or iTunes playlists and have them synced to your Palm OS handheld or smartphone. Supports random-selection smart playlists and photo resizing for optimal handheld viewing. With all this and more, we hope that you will find the new 5.0 version of The Missing Sync a worthwhile upgrade. Upgrades are available for $24.95 from any previous Missing Sync product, or for free if you purchased The Missing Sync for Palm OS v4.0 on or after October 1, 2005. To upgrade, or to learn about the other new features in this release, see: . ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. UPDATE: Missing Sync for Palm OS v5.0.2 The Missing Sync for Palm OS has been updated to 5.0.2. This update fixes an issue that caused the handheld-side Missing Sync application to be reinstalled unnecessarily, preserves data in custom fields, improves time zone support and numerous other changes. If you already own v5.0 of The Missing Sync for Palm OS, then this is a free and recommended update. SUPPORT: What About Windows Mobile 5 Device Support? Earlier this year, Microsoft announced Windows Mobile 5 (WM5), the successor to their Windows Mobile 2003 operating system. Pocket PCs and smartphones running WM5 are now shipping from a variety of hardware manufacturers. Unfortunately, The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile does not yet support devices running WM5. Microsoft made significant changes to how these devices connect with a computer, requiring Mark/Space to develop a new connection method in order to support these new devices. We are working hard to add WM5 support, which will be released as part of a free update to The Missing Sync for Windows Mobile v2.0. We will announce here on the markspace-announce list as soon as the update is ready. For more information on upcoming support for WM5 devices, check out the FAQ at the Mark/Space website: . ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. NEW STUFF: Get Your Games for the Holidays! Just in time for the holidays, Mark/Space has added the best-selling game titles from award-winning developer Astraware. We've got Palm OS and Windows Mobile titles, including Bejeweled 2, Tradewinds, Zuma and others. You can purchase these and other handheld software titles from the Mark/Space Online Store, or, if you're running the latest Missing Sync for Palm OS, from within The Missing Sync by clicking on the Shop tab. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- 6.
