That's a wrap on "Splashdown '04"! Thanks to all of the LUNAR and BayNAR
folks that took the time to man the booth and work with the public. This
is a major event, and it really counts in the eyes of the national. We
handed out tons of fliers for both clubs plus other odds 'n ends donated
by JPL. Special thanks to Lee Teicheira for coordinating all of the
volunteers.
Cliff Sojourner packed up all the remains and brought them over to me
this afternoon. We put the pads and banner back in the trailer, but now I
have the rest of the stuff that needs to go back to its owners. Bob Parks
and I have already made arrangements to return his TV and DVD player
(thanks, Bob!), but I also have the motor casings and models from Lee,
the brochure rack from Craig and the wooden display rack from (I think)
Marty. There's also a binder with some cardstock models and some mounted
RocSim printouts. If the owners can't make arrangements to pick this
stuff up, I can bring it to the next launch, but I don't want it taking
up the floor space in my office for too long.
