No wind at all, and some high overcast to make rocket spotting easy. We had a group of about a dozen cub scouts who launched Gnomes on 1/2 a motors, but we never got so busy that we had to issue the colored rack tickets. Eric Rosendahl flew his Executioner twice on D-12s and three times on E-9s! Thanks to Kevin Majeski who came through for us on hauling the trailer, and helped with set-up and tear-down. Thanks also to Tom McLachlan, Norm Newlon, and Terry Swift who put in shifts as LCO and to a new member, Phyllis Gracia, who worked the RSO table for an hour. Norm picked up a nifty Navaho kit for our raffle prize, and then lucked out and won it himself! The launches went as follows: 28 - 1/2 A 23 - A 23 - B 23 - C 18 - D 8 - E 1 - 3 C Cluster 124 launches Not quite a J motor. You can help. Message-ID: <5.2.0.9.0.20030226114629.02d62a70@pop.earthlink.net> Hi, I'm sure many of you are already aware of this, as it has already been discussed on other rocketry mailing lists. However, there are probably individuals on the BAYNAR list who do not subscribe to other lists, and this turn of events is important enough to all of us who engage in model rocketry that I thought I'd better pass the information along. A provision of the Homeland Security Act, as it is written at this moment, threatens to put an end to model rocketry. In the coming days, there will be an effort in the United States Senate to pass an exemption that would allow model rocketry to continue to exist. However, the success of that effort may depend upon citizens contacting their senators to express their support for this safe and educational hobby.
