The weather is "unsettled" as far as this weekend goes, but we will do
our best to be out there launching. If the weather does cause a
cancellation - too rainy or too windy - we will notify via this e-mail
list. We tend to wait until the last minute to cancel, so check just
before you come out, if you are worried about a wasted trip!
We are having a fun rocket building contest for our June launch. We got
several suggestions for contest format, and we have settled on Big
Bertha parachute duration. You can build it stock, or you may modify it
as you choose. The longest in the air on an Estes B4 or B6 motor is the
winner. Modified versions must use all the original parts (they must be
present, but can be modified). We will judge stock versions and mods
separately, so you can build and enter for both. Rockets may be painted
or not, but I believe there should be awards for painting and
finishing. Notice: Intentionally shooting for the CATO award is not
considered sporting!
Questions or suggestions? E-mail me quick!
